Equality Plan

Equal Opportunities Plan

From March 2022 onwards, as a result of Royal Decree 901/2020, companies with more than 50 female employees are required to create and implement an equal opportunities plan.

This means that companies must have these equality plans in place. These plans will result in new requirements, procedures and protocols to be complied with.

Requirements your company must meet in order to implement the Equality Plan

Below, we summarise some of the requirements that we must highlight in relation to the implementation of an equality plan in your company.

  • Establish a committee responsible for managing and maintaining the equality plan.
  • Define the objectives of the equality plan and the goals to be achieved.
  • Maintain a salary record for the entire workforce. This will involve grouping staff salaries by gender and social groups.
  • Conduct an audit of the salary records in order to detect any inequalities that need to be corrected.
  • Develop a protocol for sexual harassment and/or discrimination on the grounds of sex, promote gender-neutral recruitment, work-life balance, among others.
  • Training of workers and managers in equality issues in order to promote a culture of equality within the company.
