Eco-design Consultancy

With over 10 years of experience, we can tailor our services to your needs. In general, we achieve ISO 14006 certification for eco-design management by following these steps:

  1. Defining the scope of eco-design application. This could be a single product, a family of products, or our entire catalogue. We help you define it.
  2. Environmental assessment to evaluate the life cycle of the products to be included in the ISO 14006 and determine the environmental aspects of the product and possible improvement actions to be implemented.
  3. Procedures and instructions to be implemented in accordance with the requirements of the ISO 14006 eco-design standard. We incorporate the requirements into your management system. We use our Gesttic method – “paperless” ISO software based on Microsoft 365.
  4. Implementation of the requirements of the standard. This involves implementing the system defined to environmentally assess the different environmental design options.
  5. Internal ISO audit of the management system to verify compliance with the requirements of ISO 14006 on eco-design.
  6. Certification audit. We help you choose the accredited ISO certifier that will bring you the most value. We also accompany you during the certifier’s audit.

Guaranteed success. We have over 20 years of experience behind us.

FAQs Eco-design

What is eco-design?

Eco-design is an approach that considers the environmental impacts of a product from its conception to its end of life, with the aim of reducing those impacts at every stage of its life cycle.

It is aimed at any organisation, regardless of size, sector or geographical location, that wishes to integrate eco-design into its ISO 14001 or EMAS environmental management system.

Although ISO 14006 on eco-design is designed to be integrated into an EMS based on ISO 14001, it can also be applied independently by organisations that do not have a certified Environmental Management System.
ISO 14006 is compatible with other ISO standards, particularly ISO 14001 (environmental management) and ISO 9001 (quality management). It allows eco-design aspects to be integrated into a broader management framework.
Eco-design encourages the creation of more sustainable products, promotes reuse, recycling and waste minimisation, which directly contributes to the circular economy.
The standard does not require a full life cycle assessment (LCA) to be carried out in accordance with ISO 14044, but it does provide guidelines for considering environmental impact throughout the product design phases.
